Creativity: Do Great Work
Where does inspiration come from? For me, it comes from seeing someone doing great work, and this is often a craftsman like a carpenter or a metalsmith not usually a photographer. Sometimes this inspiration can be a distraction, because I am so excited by what they are doing that I want to do it myself. But then I remind myself the art form that I have practiced for so many years, and that I want to excel at, is photography. I get a new burst of energy to make my art work as good as those who I admire.
The thing all artists have in common is that internal drive to make great work. When looking for inspiration find examples of that drive, even if it is in a completely foreign medium.
